Short Review: The movie ‘You’ve Got Mail’ has the sort of cute feel of the early internet days and nice acting by Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. The romantic comedy was written by Nora Ephron, and even though it relies heavily on jokes, such as those that cling to the reverse outline, it produces the same warm feeling, the same brilliant combination of witty dialogue, smart plotlines, and a warm picture. Turning from an intellectual to a light romantic comedy this film is perfect for a night of movie-watching, especially for those who like classic romances with elements of charm of the early Hollywood.

The audience of the romantic comedy film You’ve Got Mail still loves the movie like they first latched on to it back in 1998. If one goes to the official page of this show on its Facebook page, anyone can tell that this show retains the same level of nostalgia and joy usually associated with romantic comedies.
Most of the commentators appreciate the movie’s lack of dated material and the beautiful pairing of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. ‘Still my most loved romantic comedy’, posted one of the fans and it is true if only for the fact that the movie offers a warm storyline and original cast.
The last point to notice in the comments is that New York in the movie is depicted as cute, which forms a nice background to the developing love story. The audience remembers funny moments from the bookshop and strolls around the park saying that it is the city that adds the charm to the romance.
Fans also remind everyone about the early days of the Internet and speak about the joys of using email to communicate in the period before such social networks as FACEBOOK appeared. Some of the users stated that they liked the film in the sense that it portrayed the feeling of a connection in that time even with the current modern technology advancement.

A post by the user name ‘r/movies’ in the Reddit community is a reaction to the unequal Julie & Julia. There was one general consensus which I do understand and that is that the movie could only give off the impression of being ‘half of a fantastic movie’, the part with the character of Julia Child played by Meryl Streep was superb but the Julie Powell part as played by Amy Adams was not all that brilliant.
To top it off, here is another Redditor, writing about how she was discomforted by some bits of Julie & Julia: “I actually found myself wanting more of the Julia Child segments; Streep was magnetic,” and then demonstrating the manner in which she was discomforted by some segment with ‘yeech’. They said that much like the dead’s, they found that the movie felt more alive during the portions where the show began to charm them; where it tried to educate them about the warmth of Child’s life.
As for Julie Powell, the director manages to spur quite a lot of yawning – well at least it appeared so to us. “The Julie parts were boring to me which slowed down the movie,” pointed one of my followers as he complained about the flip side of the story. Some of the users are of the opinion that though, Amy Adams may have performed well, her character was not as charming and resourceful as Julia Child on the big screen.
One of the comments that can also be noted in the thread is that perhaps Julie & Julia is not such a great idea as two separate movies, and the second movie which is Julie’s story alone could have been worthy of a separate movie. Some commenters went further indicating they only waited for Julie's segments so that they could just skip them altogether to follow Child’s journey.
The month of July has produced many comments and one of the biggest concerns is addressed to the performance of Meryl Streep as Julia Child. People always appreciate the fact of how successfully Streep portrayed Child, it seems like she made her character more realistic and way too over the top. A common sentiment was that the movie reminded users of their interest in Julia Child; for example, users stated that they began watching The French Chef series or trying Julia’s recipes, after seeing the movie.
Fan Comment: "Meryl Streep IS Julia Child! Her performance was so convincing, I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. Definitely one of her best roles."
It must be noted that Julie Powell’s experience in the movie appeals to modern audiences, especially those people who love cooking or blogging and/or undertake some sort of challenges. There are so many people telling how Powell’s story of the man, who challenged himself to prepare 524 recipes within 365 prompted them to start their own culinary or personal projects. Lovers of the film have stated how the film encourages them to be constant with their own interests including cooking and or pursuing other dreams.
Fan Comment: "I love how Julie’s journey felt so real. It reminded me that persistence and passion can truly lead to something amazing. I started my own blog after watching the movie!"
A common trend of commentaries is being able to find solace in Julie & Julia, mostly because of the world of food. Most of the viewers remember that after watching the movie they felt like cooking some French traditional dishes or just wanted to do something different in the kitchen. It is also interesting to note the role played by food in the movie, as the means of connecting between the past and the present, which overall seems to stir an emotional reaction.
Fan Comment: "Every time I watch this movie, I end up cooking something special. It just makes you appreciate food in a whole new way."
The second topic that people constantly touched upon in their comments is the movie’s portrayal of powerful women. The stories of both Julia Child and Julie Powell are built around ideas of paperwork, gaining knowledge about one’s self, as well as gaining power. Audiences love the resolve conveyed by the obviously dedicated fans in the motion picture, which still is inspiring to audiences now.
Fan Comment: "Both Julia and Julie’s stories are so empowering. It’s a celebration of women chasing their dreams, no matter how impossible they seem."
Some comments also show how Julie & Julia is now an evergreen book more so to those who love to cook. This makes the movie interesting to audiences of different generations as it perfectly unravels the aspects of storytelling, characterization and of course the love for French food. For some the ‘Chef Ratatouille’ is not just a movie but a show that combines cooking and movie art.
Fan Comment: "This movie is a foodie’s dream. The way they show food, the passion for cooking—it’s absolutely beautiful. I can watch it over and over again."

SEO Review: Contrary to its name “The Holiday” portrays an escape to a world where two women exchange their homes, and houses, and find themselves in the process. The features of romantic comedy are followed by beautiful stars, such as Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, and Jude Law, an impressive soundtrack, and a good sense of humor and pathos. And though most of the shooting happened at both snowy England and sunny California, it would definitely make for a perfect movie night at home.

SEO Review: The romantic comedy ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ is definitely one of the defining movies of the nineties. Thanks to its slightly unbelievable plot and the starring actors Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, it melts one’s heart, as well as focuses on the concept of love and meeting someone by chance. Due to its touching storyline, warm characters, and rather witty dialogues, the film is rather suitable for a home cinema full of warmth and affection.

SEO Review: “Before Sunrise” is a slow-paced, and greatly romanticized movie that tells the story of two people who meet, spend the night together, and fall in love in Vienna. Some scenes are truly tender and the movie presents ‘real-life’ experiences of people making it a quite contemplative film. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy give great performances that are full of lip service to the romantic arts of capturing the beauty of the moment. If one wants a nice, calm movie for an evening when he or she can think about love and time, “Before Sunrise” will be the right choice.
